[It's time... for another quest!! Although perhaps not intentionally, as Reim has never once in his life left his house and thought "boy, it's a lovely day to fight a skeleton or twelve." What he has thought of is what a lovely day it is to actually go see Sierra of his own volition. A little bit to see if she got anything after their trick or treat adventure, like he did, and a little bit because he knows she has feelings and so he's obligated.
He will never admit the second part. Anyway, on the way there, a particularly pathetic skeleton lurches after him at a distance, and it's grabbed the back of his coat with its gross bone fingers by the time he knocks on her door, dragging it with him....
This could have been less weird, but here they are.]
Lady Sierra, are you in—? [the rest of these weird noises are him trying to kick a skeleton off, take pity.]
[ sierra peeks out the window before she answers the door, just to enjoy the sight of reim struggling with the skeleton and gauge how much effort she’ll have to exert if she opens up.
decidedly, none, since the skeletons are pretty pathetic. ]
Hello, Reim.
[ a glance behind him at the skeleton. she planned this quip already. ]
My, I knew you said you were sentimental, but I didn’t think this was your type…
Don't say something strange like that as if this is ordinary!!
[He says this as the skeleton starts to drag its way up his body, which gets him to make another face and sort of- shimmy stupidly. How does he get this off??]
[it's maybe a day or so after reim casually home invades ari and all might that he remembers, oh yes, one person in this town actually ought to know where he is. sooo.]
Lady Sierra, hello. I'd like you to know that I've changed residences. I am in Flavo now, so I imagine we'll be seeing more of each other.
[ Sierra hasn't been feeling well, it seems. In some way, shape, or form, and Kisa's noticed. Which isn't hard, because Sierra's usually healthy and graceful and lovely and all of those things that don't happen to involve sickness.
Of all the times for it to happen, though, when she'd actually decided to do something for her... what a strange coincidence!
It isn't much, but it does take a few days, lots of gathering up suitable pieces of paper and tons of trial and error, with her fingers graceless from the cold weather and her haste to hide what she's working on from Sierra.
However, eventually, she knocks on Sierra's door-- with her... foot.
she hasn’t felt like this in centuries, and no matter how much blood she drinks or tomatoes she eats, nothing seems to get her back on her feet. when kisa knocks at her door, it feels like the loudest sound she’s ever heard, and the echo of it seems to vibrate her very bones.
she pulls the pillow down around her head, but there’s only so much ignoring she can do. just a moment to compose herself, and… okay. she’s coming. ]
One moment.
[ it takes her a second even after she makes the decision to move, and when she finally gets to the door, she looks paler than usual and maybe a little green as well. ]
[ ... She really looks terrible, but even if Kisa was at the stage where she'd be talking, she knows better than to point out that... well.
She looks terrible. And kind of like she's about to be sick, so she should probably be quick about this.
So. Kisa holds up her hands, where she's balancing at least six folded paper flowers in her palms-- sadly colorless, but painstakingly and carefully made.
Here you go, Sierra. Sorry she's been killing you softly without realizing it! ]
[ It's been a lively month already, and while Kisa's not entirely sure she wants to immediately trot back into the woods for any reason... well. She can't go caroling, and the prospect of a wish is too much to pass up.
... For Sierra. She thinks she definitely deserves that.
[ the winter has her feeling a little sleepier than usual, like a reptile, but she’s not down for the count just yet. when kisa speaks up, sierra stifles a yawn, and looks over her way. ]
[ sierra is good at icing people out. she wouldn’t do it gladly, but if she felt she had to, she would ignore zelda for the rest of their time in this town together.
zelda complicates it by reaching out to her, and when she reads the message, she sighs. ]
[ Upon Sierra's doorstep, she'll find a neatly wrapped parcel complete with a bow on top reading:
To: Sierra
From: Pyra
Here are some chocolates to show my appreciation! You... can eat chocolates as a vampire, can't you? Well, I hope you enjoy them. And if not, feel free to pass them onto someone else you appreciate. :) ]
[ this is… so sweet. literally, but emotionally quite sweet as well. sierra hardly even knows pyra, and yet she’s receiving chocolates.
like any good genteel woman, sierra writes a thank-you note—by hand, at that!—and leaves it on pyra’s windowsill for her to discover the next day. it’s short but sincere, as much as sierra hates being sincere with anyone. ]
Dearest Pyra,
Your generosity truly is boundless. Thank you for the chocolates.
[ the time sierra and ritsu met was decidedly one of the more unfortunate ways to meet someone. you try to flail around with no voice in the hand and mercy of a giant amused woman, and one way or other you don't end up murdering each other but still end up parting as a frowning girl and her runaway belligerent doll. that's how it looked anyway.
and the tale of the two continues in the library. how deliciously fitting. ]
... It changed again, are you kidding me. Right, right, so then she had a mysterious encounter from around the corner. Way more fascinating than geography.
[ he hadn't meant to snark out loud. but you know, the library barely has anyone in it, it's fine, probably!! ]
there are people trying to sleep, after all, and sierra’s hearing is always quite good, but the sound of more than just page turning after some silence is quite noticeable. as soon as the sentence leaves ritsu’s mouth, sierra sits up with a yawn that’s probably much louder than ritsu ever was in the first place. ]
[ whoops, that's his disciplinarian tone going off. you're not a student council member here ritsu! he follows the direction of her voice to give her a look but, the look ends up being pretty different once he sees who it is. ]
my turn to break it in
He will never admit the second part. Anyway, on the way there, a particularly pathetic skeleton lurches after him at a distance, and it's grabbed the back of his coat with its gross bone fingers by the time he knocks on her door, dragging it with him....
